The process of recycled polyester begins with the collection and sorting of post-consumer plastic waste, followed by cleaning and shredding to remove impurities and prepare the plastic for processing. The shredded plastic is then melted down and extruded into long filaments, which are cooled and solidified to create recycled polyester yarn. This yarn can then be dyed and used in various textile applications, including clothing. Throughout the manufacturing process, strict quality control measures are implemented to ensure that the recycled polyester meets specified standards for strength, color, and other properties, promoting sustainability and circularity within the textile industry by repurposing plastic waste into valuable resources.
- Fabric manufacturing, cut, sewing + Embroidery
Fabric manufacturing uses the yarn to weave or knit fabric structures on looms or knitting machines. Subsequently, the fabric may undergo dyeing or printing processes to add color or patterns. Fabric finishing processes are then applied to enhance properties such as texture, appearance, and performance. The next steps include involve cut, sewing, and embroidery. In the cutting stage, patterns are laid out on the fabric, and pieces are cut according to these patterns using cutting machines or manually operated tools. The fabric pieces move to the sewing stage, where skilled workers assemble them into finished garments using sewing machines and specialised techniques and then attaching trims or embellishments, and adding closures such as the zipper and finishing off with any embroidery details. Quality control measures at Zhejiang Bridge Group ensure that the fabric meets specified standards throughout production based on BSCI, GOTS and GRS requirements.
